In Spanish ‘Calido’ means warm. Hence, Calido Beach in the quaint hamlet of Kalutara in Sri Lanka, is true to its name as nothing but warm waters will welcome you to its golden shores.

Where is it?

It will take you about one and a half hour’s time to reach it from Colombo, the commercial capital of the country.

And Just Minutes From The Kalutara Bodhi

The Calido Beach lies serenely just four minutes away from the Kalutara Bodhi, which is undoubtedly the crowning glory of the city.

There’s Much to See!

Be there when the fishermen bring in the catch of the day, and give a hand! This spectacle, called “ma dal adinawa” in Sinhalese, requires the collective effort of many to haul the fishing net from the sea.

Go Fly a Kite!

Think kites are just for kids? At Calido Beach it’s time to let your inner child come out. During Sri Lanka’s kite season Calido Beach becomes filled with kite enthusiasts both young and old. So grab a kite and join the fun!

Or…Just Enjoy The View!

Take a stroll along the golden sands of Calido Beach and relax. Though not ideal for swimming, the warm waters of Calido Beach are perfect for dipping in your feet.
