The Nachchimale port is part of the Nambapan river. There are small milky waterfalls and shallow stone holes filled with crystal clear waters. Locals and foreign visitors both love to bathe in these fascinating waters surrounded by greenery.

Parei Thota

Yet another place of great natural beauty in Ingiriya, Parei Thota is a spot in the jungle through which a shallow stream flows. It is a common place for a river bath and boasts an amazing background for those memorable snaps!

This is a Buddhist monastery that began in 1940 where about 100 monks spent their lives on this very spot meditating. In a big cave in the monastery is a large statue of Lord Buddha. Monks and laymen are permitted to meditate at any given time here.

Hora Forest Reservation

Bearing the largest collection of hora trees in South Asia is the Hora Rainforest Reserve in Kirigala! This lush green terrain is also home to many other rare plants. It is a lovely place to visit. For a detailed Kalutara travel guide visit websites like Travel Kalutara.
