Location
An iconic landmark, the church takes a prominent place in the townscape and is located on the main road to the south of Kalutara, just 01 km away from the Clock Tower. It stands on an elevated site and faces the azure blue Indian Ocean and is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Kalutara according to popular travel directories such as Travel Kalutara.

After climbing a flight of stairs, you will be greeted with an awe-inspiring grand façade, with two massive doors with design elements of a clock inserted in the centre. A statue of the Virgin Mary is located outside of the church with the titled’ the immaculate conception’’.

The interior of the church is spacious and airy with light filtering in through some beautiful stained glasses and towering arches.
Attend Mass
For those who are interested in attending mass at the Holy Cross Church, can do so on Saturday and Sundays at 07.30 a.m. and 7.00 a.m. respectively. On Wednesday, a Rosa Mystica Novena is held at 05.30 p.m. as well.
