The Turtle conservatory is open daily till 5.00 p.m. in the evening and entrance fee comes up to LKR.500. Upon arriving, visitors can spend around 30 minutes to 1 hour wandering about learning more about turtles such as their life cycles and hatching process.

Things to Do

Visitors can also take part in releasing the 4-day old baby turtles into the sea at an added cost. This activity usually takes place in the evenings and it would be best to pre-arrange the timing of your visit to coincide with it.

One can observe 4 -day old baby turtles kept in tanks to increase the chances of survival by giving them time to build up their strength, secure plots of land where turtle eggs have been reburied to shield them from harm’s way among others.
